At our music courses in Esbo, Karis and Nykarleby you get to play and sing in a creative environment, together with Finnish and Scandinavian musicians.
The Wegelius-institute offers courses in the range of classical to folk music.
We want to inspire and encourage our students to develop their skills in musical expression as part of the orchestra and / or choir but also through solo lessons. Our goal is to create a high artistic level course, where it is easy to also the social aspect and the creation of new contacts is easy.
As part of the summer courses, MWI organizes several concerts which contain both teachers and pupils as performers. Many of our teachers are from Finland, and some from abroad, but all are top musicians and / or pedagogues.
MWI's summer course has a long tradition. The operator running the courses, the Foundation for Martin Wegelius Institute Foundation, was founded in 1956. The summer after that the first course was arranged. The Wegelius-course is hence one of the oldest music courses in Finland.
